| | Model | Tundra SR5 4x4 | | | What things have gone wrong with the car? | 1) Poor suspension for unimproved roads. Ground clearance listed at 11.25 inches is actually 9 inches, ( truck sets 1.25 inches lower than the minimum allowed in the toyota alignment specs), as measured by dealer. Front end bottoms at even the smallest bumps.
2) Rear drums warped at 6000 miles. By 12000 miles, on third set of front rotors and second set of rear drums, (drums have been turned twice), as well as new calipers, backing plates and adjusters. Brakes still bounce.
3) Gas mileage between 11 and 14 mpg
4) Seat belts are always in the doors, don't rewind and can't put them on if parked on a steep hill, (won't release)5) No manual transmission available and auto needs 1 more gear | | | | |
| | | General comments? | Good vehicle for travelling, going to town and hauling bikes to the park. Smooth ride, drives very well, good power, adequate room, above average quality. The most refined ride of any of the trucks available. Not so good for carrying loads or pulling trailers in hilly country or on rough roads | | | Previous car | 1986 toyota 4x4 Best truck ever
1996 chev 2500 4x4 OK
1999 ford super duty No quality or reliability. lots of recalls |
